ABOUT ME
Who I Am
I graduated with my BS in Nursing in December 2001 and started out my Nursing career at Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta in the Pediatric ICU. I spent the first part of my career caring for sick children there and then in Kingsport at Holston Valley Medical Center. From this, I have experience in Pediatric ICU with advanced competencies such as ECMO, CVVH, HFOV, Pediatric PACU, Pediatrics Transport ground and fixed wing, as well as NICU and well baby nursery.
After an almost three year journey with infertility, the winds of change delivered me an opportunity to work with patients whose situation I had become all to familiar with. I took a job with the physician that helped make me a mom and was a prudent and compassionate resource to others experiencing the roadblock of infertility. After the birth of my second son, I decided to go back to work in the hospital to give me more time in my extremely important role as a mother. Fate landed me a position in my current job as a recovery room nurse where I have had the privilege of caring for patients after one of the most stressful things a body and mind can go through, surgery. I also have experience in Adult Critical Care, Reproductive Endocrinology and Adult Medical Surgical Care.
I live in Johnson City, TN with my husband, our children, and our furry kids. Besides spending time with my beautiful kids, friends, and family- I am always looking for an adventure. Travel, hiking, kayaking, photography, and dancing are some of the things I love.
